I woke up with my mom pleading for my brother to turn off his XBOX 360 so she could watch Michael Jackson's funeral. Back and forth it was:
"Kaj, this is never going to be on again!"
"And neither is my Halo game!"
"Yes it will!"
"No, it won't! You can watch it tonight!"
"They don't run funerals twice, Kaj!"

I got out of bed and went downstairs, in a bad mood because 1)people were yelling when I should have been sleeping and 2)I know my period is starting soon.
So -in a PMS-y rage- I walked over to the TV and turned off the XBOX. Well, this got me a great slap on the arm from my ten year old smartass of a brother. Then, the kid started crying and screaming at me. Honestly. He loves that XBOX more than fucking anything else in the world, and Halo 3 is all he fuckin' cares about. He plays for 7 hours (at least) every day, and I'm so sick of it that I took what I believed was the appropriate action. Sure, it wasn't the best thing to do, it woke up my dad and pissed him and my mom off, and my brother and I aren't on speaking terms for now, but I think a reality check was what he needed. In my book, he plays that stupid game too much for his own good, and it's all that he cares about.
